OBJECTIVE

The one years Post Graduate Research Programme in Human Rights being conducted through correspondence has been designed for meeting the growing needs of academicians, defenders and scholars  in the field of human rights, civil liberties, Peace and conflict resolution, international humanitarian issues, refugee rights and laws, disaster and emergency relief, apartheid and racial discrimination, drug abuse, judicial activism and global and regional perspectives of human rights. The admissions for the one year Post Graduate Research Programme in Human Rights commences every year for March, June, September and December sessions for all such persons who have successfully obtained their Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline.

The Post=Graduate Research programme is  distinctive focus of the programme is on theoretically informed and multidisciplinary approaches to human rights, duties and responsibilities. It aims to expose you to a advanced, critical and contextual engagement with the subject. You will study human rights in their legal, political, sociological, anthropological and philosophical contexts. Peace, Developmental, Legal, Political, social and economic challenges are frequently articulated through the language of human rights. You will be introduced to a wide variety of approaches to research across a range of disciplines, and to the theoretical frameworks for advanced legal scholarship. You will also take specialist courses, choosing from a wide range of subjects in the area of human rights.  CATALOG

Reading Material 

 The Institute will provide E-books and web materials  set on human rights in a span of  one year to its students for studying the various facets of human rights. These books will be sent in given student Email as soon as the admission form is received by the Institute.

(Human Rights perspectives, international Law and Protection Instruments, UDHR, Human Rights Issues)

Paper-2: Philosophy of Human Rights & Duties-II

(Gender Rights including LGBT Rights, Women’s Rights. Child Rights. Health problem and issues)

Paper-3: Philosophy of Human Rights & duties-III

(Other issues: Environmental, Green Rights, Climate change, Refugee issues, poverty, Hunger, Discrimination, War , Peace, Conflict Resolution and Terrorism)

Paper-4: Research Methodology

Paper-5: Elective/ Specialization

Student shall select one of the electives/Specialization and prepare study report.

Paper-6: Action Report

Every student shall visit school/communities and organize Human Rights Literacy Mission workshop. Its a leadership practical to develop social leadership in self. The action report will be submitted in given proforma.

Paper-7  : Master’s Thesis

Student shall register their Master’s Thesis topic soon after registration of candidature. All year with studies they will be developing thesis under supervision of the entrusted guide by the institute.

Paper-8 :  Conference/ Seminar

All students will present their thesis and action report in the conferences organized by institute anywhere in world in person or by virtual. All Student may also undergo Project Management & Personality Development Training Programme.

You may avail Self Employment and Entrepreneurial opportunities for establishing rural and urban counselling centres on Human Rights.Establishing NGOs in the fields of Human Rights and Civil Liberties in general and human rights activism, disaster and emergency relief, humanitarian assistance, child, bonded labour, displaced people, drug abuse, conflict resolution, and public interest litigation in particular.

6. You may work Human Rights Consultancy Organisations run by Lawyers and Legal Experts.Correctional Institutions working in the fields of Juvenile Delinquency, Child Abuse, Home for the Homeless etc.
